Play Therapy

You Matter - Final (2)

Children, just like adults have a variety of life experiences and as a result they may have many feelings about their perception of that experience.  Developmentally they are not always capable of identifying, communicating, and processing these experiences or emotions.  It is through play, the language of children that they are able to express these feelings in a natural way.  Children utilize the toys in the playroom in the way that we as adults use words.  Play therapists assist children in learning age appropriate ways to communicate feelings, improve self control, gain problem solving techniques, and positive coping skills.
