What is Dungeons & Dragons Role Play Group Therapy?

Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Role Play Therapy is a form of therapeutic intervention that utilizes the framework of the popular tabletop role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons to help individuals address various psychological or emotional issues.

Our Dungeons & Dragons Group does not require knowledge of the game in order to participate. This group is for boys and girls ages 11 to 18 years old, with the groups being broken up by age. Each session is 2 hours long and the cost is $60.00, meeting once a week for 8 weeks. This type of therapy group relies on members committing to the entire length of the campaign. Each member is an integral part of the therapeutic process and storyline. This group helps to build strong communication skills, empathetic understanding and frustration tolerance. The participants learn problem-solving and relationship skills in the game that can be utilized in every day life scenarios.
